Styled 1st Birthday Cake Smash

I have come across many people who had no idea what cake smash was. It is a very popular term in the photo world that I live in and it is becoming very popular amongst mums. New mums often struggle to find what to get for their child's 1st birthday. It is a perfect occasion for the whole family to celebrate and you want to make it big especially with your first child. You might find your child lost and unable to enjoy a big party with too many people and it might upset you.

Cake smash photo session is designed for a little person to enjoy it the whole way through. It usually consists of several parts. First one to get your child to adjust to the new environment and the big lights. Once he/she is settled the cake comes out and the fun begins. Some children are smashing the cake naturally and love it, some may be a bit shy and it might take them longer to touch and taste the cake. I just had girl twins that were the perfect examples. One was into everything we did, she was laughing and smashing and had a good time. The other one was upset and it took her a while until she gave me a smile and until she touched the cake. The last part of the session consist of bubble bath in a tin bath and bubble machine. They all love bubbles, that is for sure. I usually end the session with cuddly towel photos.

Do not be afraid to ask your local photographer for this kind of session. The sessions are styled according to your likes or to what your child likes, you can choose colours and theme and the photographer matches all the props and the cake. In case your child has food allergy do not forget to mention it before hand, so the confectioner is aware and can use appropriate recipe for your child's needs.
